Description

Position Overview:
The Production Controller & Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient operations, on-time delivery, and optimal use of resources. This role serves as a critical link between production, supply chain, and customer demand, ensuring alignment across departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate with procurement, operations, and logistics to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production plans.
  • Monitor production progress, identify delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize workflows.
  • Communicate schedule changes, priorities, and risks to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Balance workload across production lines or teams to maximize output and minimize idle time.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, inventory status, and capacity planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and process optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all scheduling activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and scheduling software.
  • Advanced Excel or data analysis skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiarity with capacity planning and demand forecasting.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices.
  • APICS/CPIM certification or similar is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing or production facility setting.
  • May require occasional extended hours to meet production demands.

  • On-time production and delivery rates.
  • Schedule adherence.
  • Inventory accuracy and turnover.
  • Production efficiency and downtime reduction.
