About The Company
At Just Fare, we believe that food is more than just nourishment—it’s a powerful force for social change. Based in Oakland, CA, we provide people-first food services that foster connection and strengthen community. Whether it’s workplace dining, catering, or creating custom food programs, we help businesses and organizations serve meals that do more than just fill stomachs. They bring people together, elevate workplace culture, and promote sustainability. We are a values-driven company. Our mission is to create a more just and equitable food system, where we prioritize local, ethical sourcing and focus on supporting BIPOC- and women-owned businesses. Every meal we prepare is rooted in our core values: - Respect Everything: We respect all people, the planet, and the food that sustains us. - Embrace Transparency: Open communication, authenticity, and accountability are key to how we work. - Be Thoughtful: We are purposeful in everything we do, from food sourcing to how we treat our staff and clients. - Spread the Love: We honor community and reciprocity, celebrating the humanity in others. As a small, high-touch company, we handle everything in-house—from menu creation and food prep to on-site delivery. We don’t rely on third-party services, which allows us to offer a truly customized experience for our clients. Whether designing a community kitchen or providing event catering, we ensure that each client’s needs are met with the utmost care and attention to detail. We're also deeply committed to sustainability. We’re actively working towards operating a zero-waste kitchen and incorporating waste-reduction practices into the programs we design for our clients. By sourcing ingredients responsibly and minimizing food waste, we are making a positive impact on both the environment and the communities we serve. At Just Fare, we are building a future where food connects people, supports communities, and promotes positive change. One delicious meal at a time.
