Head of Tax (m/f/d)

About the role
We are seeking a Head of Tax to define and lead the global tax function of Agile Robots SE, a fast-growing, technology-driven group headquartered in Munich and operating across multiple jurisdictions. This role takes full ownership of the Group’s tax strategy, governance, compliance, and transformation agenda, and serves as a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership Team on the tax implications of international expansion, M&A, and operating-model decisions.
The ideal candidate combines deep international tax expertise, in particular transfer pricing, BEPS/Pillar Two, and cross-border structuring, with strong business judgment and a passion for technology, robotics, and innovation
Your Responsibilities
Define and lead the Group’s global tax strategy, ensuring alignment with Agile Robots SE’s business strategy, international expansion, and evolving operating model
Act as the strategic tax advisor to the Executive Leadership Team, providing clear guidance on tax risks, opportunities, and implications of key business decisions
Assume full ownership of all Group tax matters across jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with German and international tax regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding taxes
Design and optimize the Group’s tax structure, including legal entity setup, IP ownership, and cross-border operating models, to support scalable growth and operational efficiency
Lead the Group’s transfer pricing strategy and governance, ensuring alignment with OECD standards and reflecting the value creation of a technology-driven, IP-focused business
Anticipate and manage the impact of global tax developments (e.g., OECD Pillar Two, digital taxation), proactively shaping the Group’s response and implementation
Establish and maintain a robust tax governance framework, including policies, controls, and risk management processes appropriate for a fast-scaling, international organization
Own relationships with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors at the Group level, leading tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with a focus on protecting the company’s interests
Partner with Finance, Legal, Strategy, and Business Leaders to support key initiatives, including international expansion, supply chain design, and commercial structuring
Lead the tax aspects of M&A activities, including structuring, due diligence, and integration, ensuring alignment with the Group’s long-term strategic and financial objectives
Drive tax transformation and digitalization, ensuring effective integration of tax processes within ERP systems and finance infrastructure, with a focus on automation, transparency, and data quality

Your Profile
University degree in Law, Business, Economics, Finance, or Tax; a German Tax Advisor qualification, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent international tax qualification is a plus
10+ years of progressive tax experience gained in a Big Four firm and/or in-house at an international, technology-driven group; prior leadership of a Group Tax function is a clear advantage
Deep expertise in international corporate taxation, transfer pricing, VAT, and withholding taxes, with proven exposure to OECD Pillar Two and other current global tax developments
Track record in designing and implementing cross-border tax structures, IP and operating-model frameworks, and M&A tax workstreams (structuring, due diligence, integration) in a high-growth environment
Strong experience leading tax audits, disputes, and negotiations with tax authorities and managing external advisors across multiple jurisdictions
Hands-on experience handling international tax matters and cross-jurisdictional cases is a plus
Demonstrated ability to build and develop a high-performing tax team and to operate as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, finance, legal, and commercial stakeholders
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills; able to translate complex tax matters into clear business recommendations
Business fluency in English (written and spoken) required; German language skills are a plus
