About the Role

Description

WORK SHIFT:  Nights (Sun-Thurs 11pm to 7am)     



POSITION SUMMARY:

  • To maintain accurate inventory, receive raw materials and product into IMQS, issue appropriate materials to production, store and ship according to customer requirements and PCI procedures while maintaining compliance with Department of Homeland Security, OSHA, FDA and other certification agency requirements. To maintain a safe working environment, operate material handling equipment and follow all company GMP and Safety Rules. To ship orders, complete, accurately and in a timely manner. Support Warehouse Manager and Material Technician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Overseeing the Material Handler duties, on Production Floor, Shipping and Receiving workload dictates.
  • Overseeing the Loading and unloading of trailers for shipments and receipts.
  • Utilize IQMS transactions for all receipts, movements and issues of raw materials and packaging components.
  • Utilize IQMS transactions for all receipts, movements, staging and shipping of customer orders, warehouse transfers or customer returns.
  • Overseeing the Securement of trailers with dock locks or wheel chocks before entering with a forklift. Remove or unlock when loading/ unloading is complete.
  • Overseeing the Installing and removal of dock plates, open and close dock doors and ensure they remain locked for security and safety reasons.
  • Overseeing the material techs of performing the duties of stretch wrapping, staging  and shipping  orders in compliance with customer requirements and PCI procedures. 
  • Overseeing of all Repack cartons as needed to be done. 
  • Assigning and performing Cycle count machine locations each shift.
  • Receive railcars into the IQMS system, unload railcar resin into appropriate silos and notify Manager of issues or shortages.
  • Notify railroad of required changes in railcar line-up on siding.
  • Overseeing the Performance of RTI’s for color, liner and WIP caps returned to the warehouse from production.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the Loading and unloading shuttle trailers and trailers to outside warehouses and other PCI facilities using appropriate transactions.
  • Oversee and prepare weekly inventory report for Purchasing.
  • Obtain control numbers for and perform RMA’s and PO receipts.
  • Respond to telephone queries, receive and send emails.
  • Take part in fiscal year-end inventory audit preparation.
  • Assist new Department employees in training.
  • Communicate and Ensure continuity for support of Manufacturing needs.
  • Assist with all Shipping Office operations.
  • Ensure all orders ship in a timely, accurate manner through interaction with appropriate Company Departments, Warehouse personnel, customer and carriers.
  • Ensure all Company invoicing is done in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Ensure bin checks are done in a timely manner and year-end inventory is 100% accurate.
  • Ensure resin/silo unloading procedures are strictly followed to maintain accurate, compliant and sufficient resin inventory to meet production needs.  Alert appropriate people if issues or shortages are encountered.
  • Report railcar taps to QA the day of which they occur ensuring all required taps are done. 
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of export documentation requirements and prepare documents as needed.
  • Obtain freight quotes as requested.
  • Prepare for Customer audits/visits and assist in implementing appropriate recommendations.
  • Oversee and Instruct of Special projects as assigned.
  • Communicate directly with night shift employees including prioritization of overnight duties.
  • Communicate directly with day shift employees including prioritization of the daily duties.
  • Daily walk around the warehouse to ensure that all the freight is staged and stack properly and clear of all damage. 
  • Preform the daily numbers of the Rail/Silo numbers and communicate with Manufacturing and Warehouse Manager. 
  • Report all Safety issues to warehouse manager and Safety Manager.
  • Responsible for the outside of the warehouse/ Rail cleanliness. Free from debris and trash. 
  • Meeting with Warehouse manager on a daily basis.

  

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Cover Warehouse Manager and Material Handlers vacations as needed.
  • Backup: Warehouse Manager.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Minimum High School education or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior warehouse experience preferred;
  • Fork lift operation experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Simple Grasping (40-70%) – filing: handling paper;
  • Firm Grasping (40-70%) – filing; handling paper;
  • Fine Manipulation (at >70%) – phone; expediting orders.

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Forklift, personal computer, printer, calculator, telephone, clamp truck, fax machine, scissors, radio, RF Guns, hand tools, machine tools.
