Job Summary

Revenue Cycle Services Assistant Specialist by providing comprehensive front-end administrative, patient access, financial, and customer service functions. This position is responsible for various administrative functions, revenue functions and front desk customer service. The role is essential to patient satisfaction, operational efficiency, and hospital reimbursement.


Essential Functions

  • Patient Registration, Scheduling & Admitting
  • Support to scheduling, insurance verification/Authorization, and registration
  • Provide daily clinicals for insurance companies on all patient admits.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to understand clinicals from EHR
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Professional judgment in handling sensitive medical and financial information

Revenue Integrity

· Provide support for clerical functions for Revenue Integrity Analyst and Director

  

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in hospital setting that includes patient registration, medical records, and revenue cycle functions
  • Working knowledge of hospital insurance verification ,authorizations, medical records and patient financial processes
  • Experience with hospital EHR/ADT and billing systems
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial hospital payers  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in an acute-care hospital environment
  • Knowledge of CMS Conditions of Participation and EMTALA
  • Experience with charity care and Medicaid eligibility screening
  • Medical terminology 

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use
  • Frequent interaction with patients, families, staff, and payors

  • Accuracy of patient registration and insurance verification
  • Timely filing for clinical documentation for payors
  • Reduction in front-end claim denials
  • Timely and accurate point-of-service collections
  • Positive patient satisfaction outcomes
  • Compliance with WRMC policies, regulatory standards,  and departmental goals

  • Wears name tag properly; follows dress code policy; answers phone correctly and promptly; is prepared for meetings; meets deadlines; does not participate in gossip; acts ethically and treats others with respect; respects customer’s and co-worker’s time; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. 

Collaboration/Teamwork

  • Attends staff meetings; follows HIPAA guidelines; follows patient rights policy; complies with the compliance program; demonstrates knowledge of role in a disaster; demonstrates knowledge of fire and fire drill procedures; working knowledge of hospital emergency codes; always utilizes standard precautions in the clinical setting; safely manages the environment of care by demonstrating a working knowledge of the requirements of the: Life Safety program, Utilities Management program, Hazardous Materials program, Emergency Preparedness program, Safety Management program, Medical Equipment Management program, Security Management program. 




Requirements


Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in Front Desk Reception and/or administrative experience. 
  • Preferred experience in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Familiarity with basic office software

Education

  • High School Diploma and/or AA degree.
