Industrial Maintenance Technician (Heat Treat / Night Shift)
East Peoria, IL
$26–$30/hr + Shift Differential + Overtime
AWS Schedule | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour shifts)

Work on High-Temperature Industrial Equipment
Looking for more than just basic maintenance work?
This role puts you hands-on with heat treat furnaces and high-temperature systems that are critical to production. If you enjoy troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, this is where your skills actually matter.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial furnaces and support systems
- Diagnose issues with motors, burners, pumps, and controls
- Respond to breakdowns and get equipment back up quickly
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime
- Replace components (bearings, belts, valves, electrical parts)
- Work with other techs to solve recurring equipment issues
- Document work in CMMS
Equipment You’ll Work On
- Heat treat furnaces & temperature control systems
- Gas burners and high-heat industrial equipment
- Motors, pumps, compressors, and drives
- Electrical panels, wiring, and controls
- Facility HVAC systems
Tools & Tech
- Multimeters & electrical diagnostic tools
- Hand & power tools
- CMMS systems
- PLC/controls experience (a plus)
Requirements
What You Need
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Experience working in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
- Safety-first mindset (LOTO required)
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with heat treat, furnaces, kilns, ovens, or high-temperature processes
- Metals, forging, foundry, or similar backgrounds
Work Environment
- Industrial setting with heat, noise, and physical work
- Active role (lifting, moving, troubleshooting throughout shift)
- Night shift with rotating AWS schedule
