About the Role

Position Summary:

Would you like to work for a locally owned bank that supports the community you live in? We are hiring for a full-time Commercial Loan Officer for the Baldwin and Clear Lake office locations. As a full-time Commercial Loan Officer you will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of Agriculture and Commercial relationships. Also responsible for analyzing risk, approving and disbursing primarily Commercial and Agriculture loans to customers in accordance with established Bank policies.


Essential Duties May Include:

- Responsible for loan/line growth, primarily Agriculture and Commercial loans, through client portfolio and other proactive measures to grow market share, as well as retain / grow existing portfolio. Follow up on leads generated through all sources;

- Prospect new relationships through proactive calling efforts, while retaining and deepening existing relationships. Promote the Bank’s loan products and programs internally and in the community through regular contact with businesses in the Agriculture and Commercial field, as well as other centers of influence;

- Develop banking relationships by reviewing and analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan/line requests and recommend structure;

- Conduct regulatory compliant loan pre-qualification interview for primarily Agriculture and Commercial loans. Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends though bank approved sources;

- Participates in local organizations, clubs etc. to promote the Bank and to support the community;

- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and laws including but not limited to, The Bank Secrecy Act. Understands compliance issues and attends training as it relates to the position.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Needed: To be successful in this position you will have experience in Agriculture and commercial loan portfolio management . Thorough understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc.) as it applies to the Ag and Commercial loans space. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to provide the highest quality of customer service in an efficient, professional, and accurate manner consistent with Pillar Bank’s values and standards.


Required:

- Require Bachelor’s degree in a Business Administration, Finance or Economics or related discipline or equivalent related experience;

- Prefer at least three (3) to five (5) years of previous experience in the Agribusiness/Farming Industry or Agriculture credit ;

- Education and/or experience in Ag or Commercial loan area preferred.
