About the Role

Job Description

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Assembler! We currently have openings on 1st, 2nd, and weekend shift.

What will you do:

  • Assemble final assembly and sub-assembly to produce load centers and safety switches.
  • Start each job with a verified first piece of product that meets quality standards.
  • Follow in-process inspection procedures, check quality of work visually, and verify inspections by completing records.
  • Perform assembly operation in a safe manner based on prescribed safety methods as instructed by supervisor and/or leader.
  • Assemble sub-assembly and final assembly based on standardized “Manufacturing Routings” in an efficient manner in compliance with cycle times and production standards.
  • Coun, record, and report production.
  • Maintain good housekeeping including equipment.
  • Sort and dispose of scrap.

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and understand written materials including production and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to meet specified production standards.
  • Ability to work all stations.
  • Ability to adapt to fast paced cycle times.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to make inspections of work performed to maintain quality standards.
  • Ability to work safely.
  • Ability to record production, torque information, and other written communication as required.
  • Ability to work independently as a team member to produce products.

Physical Demands Necessary to Perform Essential Functions

  • Visual inspection of work required. 
  • Two handed work. 
  • Ability to reach and extend arms. 
  • Ability to do repetitive or continuous work 
  • Ability to manipulate small items on a continual basis. 
  • Ability to manipulate bulky items with both or either hand 
  • Ability to apply pressure on parts and hold in position. 
  • Ability to grip and use hand held power tools with vibration present. 
  • Ability to move objects in accordance with SPS guidelines:  
  • One Person/Routine Lift                       26 lbs. 
  • One Person/Non-Routine                    40 lbs. 
  • Two Person Lift                                         80 lbs. 
  • Mechanical                                                80+ lbs. 
  • Ability to stand 8 hours per shift  
  • Ability to sit 8 hours per shift. 
  • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing. 
  • Ability to bend and stoop. 
  • Ability to use power tools including vibratory tools, control buttons, and hand tools. 
  • Ability to perform 5-S activities (sort, straighten, shine, standardize, sustain). 
  • Ability to perform stretching activities at the beginning of the shift. 

Work Environment

  • Climate controlled. 
  • Work any of three shifts and required overtime. 
  • Possible lift tables in area. 
  • Some work areas are confined due to position of equipment and stock to limit movement of objects great distances. 
  • Mechanical hazards exist in use of power tools, equipment, and forklift traffic. 
  • Wear required personal protective equipment including the following: 
    • Eye protection required, metal parts, materials, and power tools. 
    • Hearing protection where required, noise exposure.
    • Safety shoes required. 
    • Wear gloves when required due to sharp objects and hot glue.
