About the Role

About the role:

Hamad International Airport is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as Aviation Safety Specialist. If you thrive in a dynamic environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proven track record in implementing and maintaining safety standards, leadership and stakeholder management and can help us to achieve this ambition by:

·   Assist Line Manager in maintaining and reviewing operational programs related to Aviation Safety and Investigation, ensuring that programs align with SMS requirements and aviation safety standards.

·       Liaise with Aerodrome Departments and Airport Stakeholders to address aviation safety requirements and ensure coordinated efforts across all relevant teams.

·       Review and verify that aviation safety procedures comply with QCAR regulations, ensuring all procedures meet regulatory standards for safe airport operations.

·       Contribute to developing and managing the Hazard Log and Risk Register, supporting MATAR’s documentation requirements, and tracking potential hazards in compliance with State Regulator standards.

·       Define and document Threat/Hazard Identification and Risk Management processes in alignment with the MATAR Safety Management System manual to establish clear guidelines for hazard handling.

·       Prepare risk assessments and safety cases and assist in aeronautical studies to support the handling of non-compliance situations, ensuring that all safety documentation aligns with operational requirements.

·       Coordinate and support aerodrome oversight inspections conducted by the QCAA Aerodrome Standards Directorate, ensuring operational readiness and adherence to regulatory standards.  

·       Assist in aerodrome certificate processes by ensuring compliance requirements are efficiently met, and all documentation is up to date.



About you:

  • High School, Vocational and Diploma (Type of Diploma based on roles) Qualification with minimum of 5 years of job related-experience

·       Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum of 4 years of job related-experience

·       Safety Management Systems (SMS) Training completion from ICAO or ACI

·       ICAO Annex 14 Training completion course

·       Apron Management Training completion course from ICAO or ACI

·       Project Management Training from recognized institution

·       Technical Writing Proficiency experience in preparing and developing documents, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures.

·       Strong command of English Language – both written and verbal

·       Policy Translation skills – ability to convert complex aviation safety policies into clear, concise procedures and actionable feedback.
