Job Description:

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Manager, Deliver APAC, located in Shanghai, China. 

The Sr. Manager, Deliver APAC is a senior HR operations leader responsible for ensuring consistent, high‑quality delivery of core HR services across the APAC region. This role leads regional HR service delivery teams and partners closely with global HR, Centers of Expertise, and business leaders to drive operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement. 

This position plays a critical role in enabling business performance by delivering reliable, scalable, and employee‑focused HR services during a period of organizational transformation. The role offers the opportunity to lead regional change, shape the employee experience, and influence how HR services are delivered across diverse APAC markets. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and oversee HR Deliver operations across the APAC region, ensuring consistent execution of core HR processes (e.g., employee data management, lifecycle transactions, policy administration, and case management). 

  • Manage, coach, and develop regional HR service delivery leaders and teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus. 

  • Partner with Global HR Deliver, HR Business Partners, and Centers of Expertise to align regional delivery with global standards, service levels, and transformation initiatives. 

  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across APAC countries, escalating and mitigating risks as needed. 

  • Drive operational excellence through process standardization, simplification, automation, and the effective use of HR systems and analytics. 

  • Monitor service performance against SLAs and KPIs, using data and insights to identify trends, address gaps, and improve employee experience. 

  • Lead and support regional change initiatives, including organizational transitions, system implementations, and new ways of working. 

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex employee or operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and strong stakeholder communication. 

Where required to be managed locally:  

  • Document handling: Print, stamp/seal, mail/ship, distribute, and route documents for wet signatures. 

  • Records management: Store/archive/retrieve HR documents; fulfill requests; coordinate offsite storage; scan and name for Veeva. 

  • Compliance/admin: Upload/submit filings; print and hand-deliver to agencies; support audits and onsite audit coordination. 

 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred. 

Experience and Skills 

Required: 

  • Typically 8-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, HR operations, or shared services, with regional or global scope. 

  • Demonstrated people‑leadership experience managing managers and/or senior individual contributors in a complex, matrixed environment. 

  • Strong knowledge of HR service delivery models, HR operations, and employee lifecycle processes. 

  • Experience operating in a highly regulated environment with proven ability to ensure compliance across multiple countries. 

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem‑solving skills. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience supporting APAC markets, with strong understanding of cultural, regulatory, and operational differences across the region. 

  • Prior experience in a shared services, global business services, or HR transformation environment. 

  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and digital HR tools used to support large, distributed workforces. 

  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) applied to HR operations. 

  • Proven ability to lead change, drive process improvement, and deliver results in a fast‑paced, transformational context. 

Other 

  • Language: Fluency in English required; Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred. 

  • Travel: Up to 20–30% regional travel across APAC. 

  • Certifications: HR certifications (e.g., SHRM‑CP/SCP or equivalent) preferred.
