About the Role

We’re looking for a Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join our Auckland Maintenance Reseals Crew. Mō te tūranga | About the role

In this role, you’ll operate the bitumen gangbar sprayer truck and support chip sealing and reseal works across the Auckland network. You’ll help deliver accurate spray application, quality surfacing outcomes, and safe, well-coordinated sealing operations. It’s a hands-on role in a crew that knows how to get stuck in, look after each other, and switch on when it counts.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

  • Operate the bitumen gangbar sprayer truck during chip sealing and reseal works.

  • Work as the passenger spray person when required.

  • Monitor spray rates, coverage, and equipment performance for quality results.

  • Complete pre-starts, cleaning, and plant inspections.

  • Report hazards, faults, and equipment issues straight away.

  • Work closely with the chip seal crew and carry out labouring duties as required.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Proven experience operating bitumen spray equipment in reseals or chip sealing.

  • A current Class 4 drivers licence.

  • Dangerous Goods and WTR endorsements.

  • Good communication skills and confidence using iPads or laptops.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
