Direct Support Professional Supervisor

Location: Greater Binghamton Area

Salary: $25.00 -$26.25

The Direct Support Professional Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation, compliance, and performance of assigned residential programs. This role provides leadership to staff, ensures high-quality person-centered services, and maintains regulatory and organizational standards while promoting the health, safety, and independence of individuals served.

 
 Direct Support Professional Supervisor Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned residential programs, ensuring quality care, health and safety, and compliance with OPWDD and agency standards
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff (Assistant Residence Managers and Residential Aides), including hiring support, scheduling, payroll approvals, and ongoing performance management
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate program coverage, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Ensure completion, accuracy, and compliance of all program documentation, including Life Plans, ISP/SAP plans, habilitation plans, notes, and billing records
  • Lead and participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferences, and communication with families, guardians, and service providers
  • Promote person-centered practices by supporting independence, choice, and meaningful outcomes for individuals served
  • Monitor program compliance, identify and address incidents or safety concerns, and participate in investigations as required
  • Ensure staff complete required trainings and maintain certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, SCIP), while supporting ongoing professional development
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, leadership, and community partners to support consistent service delivery
  • Perform additional duties and program support activities as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree and 3 years of experience in OPWDD or a similar human services setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift fifty (50) pounds.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier guidelines.
