Gift and Fund Financial Services Officer
Starting salary range: $110,733-$115,050/Annually
Full-Time, Exempt, Salary
The person in this position will be required to work in-office work five (5) days per week. Mandatory in-office workdays are Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Staff have the flexibility to work two (2) days remotely.

The Gift and Fund Financial Services Officer ensures the accurate and compliant processing of gifts, receipts, and fund structures within the general ledger, while supporting donor stewardship and the broader philanthropic mission of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the accurate and timely posting of gifts, accounts receivable, and other receipts to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and procedures related to receipt processing, documentation, and segregation of duties.
Partner with donor operations teams to support donor stewardship activities and reporting, enhancing the overall donor experience.
Create, maintain, and update gift fund structures and general ledger accounts to support organizational and philanthropic initiatives.
Assist with the implementation and integration of CRM systems, ensuring data integrity and alignment with financial operations.
Support the evaluation, acceptance, and accounting treatment of complex gifts, including real estate, planned gifts, artwork, and limited partnership interests.
Provide financial analysis and guidance related to gift acceptance, stewardship, and fund management.
Prepare investment account opening documentation and coordinate updates to authorized account signers as needed.
Prepare audit schedules, confirmations, and supporting documentation for annual financial audits and other audit-related requests.
Train and mentor new and existing staff on departmental processes, procedures, and backup responsibilities.
Develop, maintain, and update training materials to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer across the team.
Collaborate with cross-functional departments and participate in interdepartmental initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Foster positive working relationships through effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration with colleagues and leadership.
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support evolving organizational needs and priorities.
Job Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of related experience required.
- Experience in nonprofit finance, contract compliance, grants management, nonprofit governance, and transactional activities preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex data and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems; experience with Raiser's Edge, Financial Edge, and grantmaking software preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
