Key Account Manager – Multi Channel & New Business

Position Summary
The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of customers including Costco, Distributors, and the Autocare channel, while also dedicating approximately 30% of their time to new business development. This role focuses on delivering sales and growth through strong account management and proactive opportunity identification, working in partnership with the Senior National Account Manager to build capability in Joint Business Planning and customer leadership.
Responsibilities
Universal Accountabilities
Own and deliver against budgeted sales, gross margin and KPI targets across assigned accounts.
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Specific Accountabilities
Account Management & Strategy
- Develop and execute customer strategies across assigned accounts.
- Support Joint Business Planning processes while building capability.
- Identify opportunities across distribution, pricing and range.
Business Development
- Dedicate approximately 30% of time to identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Build pipeline and convert new customers.
Forecasting & Supply
- Manage forecasting and ensure alignment with demand planning.
- Mitigate risks and maintain service levels.
Promotional Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute promotional activity.
- Evaluate outcomes and optimise performance.
Customer Management
- Build relationships across a broad customer base.
- Deliver presentations and proposals.
Commercial Analysis
- Use EPOS, Quantium and IRI data to inform decisions.
- Track performance and identify growth opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure aligned execution.
What we are looking for
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2+ years’ commercial experience within FMCG or equivalent.
- Proven experience in account management or similar commercial role.
- Strong analytical capability and financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience working with distributors or multi-channel customers.
- Experience identifying new business opportunities.
