Position Overview
The Human Resources Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources function and promoting a positive work environment. This role is responsible for supporting and administering various HR functions including, but not limited to, proactive employee relations, supporting training and talent development, benefits administration and support, HRIS administration, performance management, as well as supporting effective labor relations and organizational health and safety initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
· Serve as a resource for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
· Address employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
· Promote a positive work environment and foster proactive and positive employee relations.
· Provide support to managers and employees on performance management matters.
· Assist with recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection processes.
· Provide support with new employee orientations and onboarding processes.
· Provide support regarding employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
· Assist the EHS Specialist with the development and management of safety policies, procedures, and activities to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks and hazards.
· Assist with investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and misconduct allegations, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
· Participate in contract administration and grievance resolution.
· Assist in the development and implementation of department goals, objectives and metrics; analyze and recommend strategies to improve department effectiveness.
· Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with HR records and documentation.
Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
• 1-3 years of Administrative or Human Resources experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and employment laws.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience with safety compliance and knowledge of OSHA regulations desired.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Applications essential.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
• Must be able to frequently sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
