JOB SUMMARY

Merrill Manufacturing is looking for a reliable, skilled shipping and receiving associate. A person in this position will be responsible for distribution, shipping and receiving, forklift operation, or picking and packing. Your contribution will significantly impact the workplace atmosphere and contribute to our organization’s overall success.


WORK RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Responsible for the daily inventory transactions consisting of pick, pack, and ship.
  • Receiving shipments in and transferring to proper bin locations.
  • Ensure order accuracy.
  • Build containers and/or pallets for shipping.
  • Communicate effectively with Warehouse Manager.
  • Observes and follows company safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience working in a warehouse environment or general inventory and shipping knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift is a plus, but not required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPECTATIONS

  • Ability to operate a computer scanner successfully or willing to learn.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, stand, walk, and reach for minimum of 8 hours daily/5 days a week.
  • Must be able to lift 20-40 lbs. repetitively and 50-70 lbs. occasionally at various times throughout the shift.
  • Physical ability to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, bending, stooping, crawling, and overhead position, including climbing and working on a ladder.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
  • General passion for creative problem-solving.
