Position Summary
The Vice President of Marketing & Communications serves as a strategic member of the leadership team, responsible for leading the organization's marketing, communications, storytelling, public relations, brand strategy, and community visibility efforts. This role oversees marketing and communications strategy across The YouthVantage Alliance and its affiliated programs, each serving unique audiences with distinct missions, service models, and brand voices. The Vice President will ensure alignment across the organization while preserving the authenticity and identity of each brand. The successful candidate will be an experienced communications leader who can think strategically, execute effectively, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and collaborate across departments to strengthen awareness, engagement, fundraising, program participation, and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational priorities and growth goals.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team on messaging, reputation management, brand positioning, and communications strategy.
• Lead annual communications planning and establish measurable goals and performance indicators.
• Ensure all marketing and communications activities support organizational priorities, fundraising objectives, program growth, and community engagement.
• Identify opportunities to increase visibility, awareness, and thought leadership throughout Tarrant County and beyond. Brand Strategy & Positioning
• Lead the continued development and positioning of YouthVantage Alliance and its affiliated brands.
• Ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and brand standards across all communications channels.
• Develop differentiated messaging that clearly communicates the value and impact of each line of service while reinforcing the organization's shared mission.
• Strengthen public understanding of the organization's impact and role in youth development.
• Maintain brand integrity across print, digital, media, event, and community-facing materials.
Storytelling & Content Development
• Lead organizational storytelling efforts that highlight youth, families, alumni, volunteers, partners, donors, and community impact.
• Develop compelling content that supports fundraising, recruitment, advocacy, and community engagement goals.
• Oversee creation of marketing materials, publications, annual reports, newsletters, campaign materials, impact reports, and presentations.
• Build and maintain an editorial calendar and content strategy that reflects organizational priorities.
Marketing & Digital Communications
• Ensure all communications accurately reflect program outcomes and mission impact.
• Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including website management, email marketing, social media, digital advertising, and content distribution.
• Develop integrated marketing campaigns supporting programs, fundraising initiatives, special events, and organizational priorities.
• Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics and audience engagement.
• Identify opportunities to increase audience reach and engagement through emerging platforms and technologies.
• Ensure digital communications remain current, relevant, and aligned with organizational goals.
Public Relations & Community Visibility
• Lead public relations and media outreach efforts.
• Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets, community leaders, corporate partners, school districts, and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for earned media, speaking engagements, awards, and community recognition.
• Develop communications plans for major announcements, organizational milestones, and community initiatives.
• Serve as a spokesperson when appropriate and prepare organizational leaders for media and public-facing opportunities.
Development & Fundraising Communications
• Partner closely with the Development team to support annual giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, events, and donor stewardship efforts.
• Create donor-centered communications that demonstrate impact and strengthen engagement.
• Support fundraising campaigns through strategic storytelling and integrated marketing efforts.
• Collaborate on special events and community engagement initiatives to maximize participation and visibility.
• Ensure communications strategies support donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship goals.
Leadership & Team Management
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing and communications function.
• Manage communications staff, consultants, agencies, photographers, videographers, designers, and other creative partners.
• Establish systems, processes, workflows, and quality standards that support organizational excellence.
• Foster collaboration across departments and ensure communications efforts are aligned with organizational priorities.
• Manage departmental budgets and resources effectively.
Qualifications
• Master's degree preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.
• Experience leading marketing and communications efforts across multiple lines of business, brands, programs, or departments with distinct audiences, goals, and voices.
• Proven ability to successfully manage competing priorities and complex initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with executive leadership, development, operations, program staff, and external partners.
• Strong background in brand strategy, storytelling, public relations, digital marketing, and content development.
• Exceptional writing, editing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience managing staff, vendors, agencies, consultants, and creative professionals.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze data and use insights to inform communications and marketing decisions.
• Nonprofit experience preferred.
• Experience supporting fundraising, philanthropy, community engagement, or mission driven organizations strongly preferred.

Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to travel locally to program sites or meetings as needed.
