About the Role

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.

2. Develop and maintain broad knowledge of one or more areas of Human Resources.

3. Coach and partner with employees and leaders as it relates to HR area(s).

4. Maintain current knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local regulations; maintain legal documentation.

5. Interpret, explain, and advise others on human resources guidance, policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.

6. Manage confidential files and other privileged information.

7. Maintain broad understanding of data relevant to HR area(s); manages reporting requests and interprets data for others.

8. Work independently using initiative to propose solutions to problems.

9. Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.

10. Understand. Create. Simplify.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Typically four years experience within Human Resources or a related field

  • Solid knowledge of laws and legal practices and procedures as it pertains to HR area

  • Excellent listening, coaching, customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical ability and problem resolution skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in handling sensitive information and data

  • Demonstrated ability to handle/prioritize tasks

  • Ability to work independently within a team environment

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with an HRIS system and processes

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment

  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL (where applicable)

  • Negative drug test result(s) (where applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM certification
