About the Role

Reports to: Utilization Review Director

Direct Reports: None

FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt


General Summary: The Exam Team Specialist is a customer service position to help schedule examinations, coordinate clinics and get the cases prepared for review.  


Essential Functions

  • Learn and follow all processes, procedures, and guidelines from Texas Department of Insurance and Medical Equation, pertaining to Exams
  • Schedule, track and confirm examination appointments for clients, claimants, physicians, office locations, and the Texas Department of Insurance, in a timely manner
  • Providing and requesting information as needed to support the scheduling processes
  • Successfully communicate with all parties involved in the scheduling process by various means including but not limited to: phone, e-mail, and fax.
  • Maintain in-office presence during Austin clinics to support coordination and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Coordinate clinic logistics and materials preparation, ensuring all required documentation and supplies are complete, accurate, and delivered on time for both local and out-of-town clinics.
  • Assist in finding solutions to problems and ensure information flows between teams, raising concerns to the Director as needed.
  • Additional duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Familiarity with worker’s compensation as implemented in the State of Texas preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This is largely a sedentary role. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to ten (10) pounds.
