Wealth and Personal Banking is our new global business combining Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking, to become one of the world’s largest global wealth managers with USD1.4 trillion in assets. Across Asia, where wealth pools are growing faster than in any other region, HSBC’s wealth revenues grew 12% in 2019 (year-on-year) to USD5.7 billion. Our dedicated colleagues serve millions of customers worldwide across the entire spectrum of private wealth, ranging from personal banking individuals and families, through to business owners, investors and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. We provide products and services such as bank accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as asset management, insurance, wealth management and private banking that best suit our customers’ needs.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the WPB Branch Operations Central team.
Principal Responsibilities
The role holder’s responsibility includes
- Be the point of contact for all RBI inspections.
- Identify gaps vis-a-vis regulatory circulars and implement the requirement.
- Handle all regulatory submissions
- Handle projects assigned to BBCT / CPU
- Ownership of all audits and related actions including identifying root cause.
- Support Head Branch Operations in consistently identifying simplification opportunities at CPU and branches.
- Identify opportunities to automate.
The role holder, if found suitable to lead CPU, will also take over the oversight on CPU from Head Operations.
Qualifications - Internal
The job holder must be a Graduate in any discipline, with strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Minimum 10+ years of Retail Banking experience within HSBC in Operations and Customer Service experience is a preferred.
- Must have a team management experience
- Attention to detail, ability to see a job through from start to finish and sound controls background required.
- Ability to formulate and document procedures with a view to enhancing operational efficiency and customer delight without diluting controls.
- Ability to engage with risk stewards / CCO teams / auditors / regulators
- Must be proficient with MS tools i.e. Excel, PPT, and preparing workflows.
Pro-tip : Familiarity with AI-enabled tools is an advantage.
