About Rhino Federated Computing
Rhino Federated Computing solves one of the biggest challenges in AI: seamlessly connecting siloed data through federated computing. The Rhino Federated Computing Platform (Rhino FCP) serves as the ‘data collaboration tech stack’, extending from providing computing resources to data preparation & discoverability, to model development & monitoring - all in a secure, privacy preserving environment. To do this, Rhino FCP offers flexible architecture (multi-cloud and on-prem hardware), end-to-end data management workflows (multimodal data, schema definition, harmonization, and visualization), privacy enhancing technologies (e.g., differential privacy), and allows for the secure deployment of custom code & 3rd party applications via persistent data pipelines. Rhino is trusted by >60 leading organizations worldwide - including 14 of 20 of Newsweek’s ‘Best Smart Hospitals’ and top 20 global biopharma companies - and is leveraging this foundation for financial services, ecommerce, and beyond. The company is headquartered in Boston, with an R&D center in Tel Aviv.
Role Overview
As an Engineering Project Manager at Rhino, you will be the operational anchor driving engineering delivery, predictability, and process consistency. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering Operations, you will maintain execution structure across our Guilds and Squads. You will be the tactical engine that keeps our Jira workflows organized, coordinates cross-functional technical initiatives, and assists with quality governance frameworks (QMS) to ensure our R&D organization operates smoothly and predictably.
Key Responsibilities
- Jira & Process Clarity: Take hands-on ownership of our Jira configuration. Build and maintain the tracking boards, dashboards, and epic structures needed to provide clear, real-time visibility into project health.
- End-to-End Delivery Tracking: Monitor quarterly R&D goals and coordinate cross-functional technical initiatives in a cloud environment. Map out cross-squad dependencies, proactively mitigate risks, flag delivery risks early to Squad Leads, and escalate critical blockers to keep timelines on schedule.
- Operational Support & Execution: Support the engineering operations function by picking up ad-hoc operational tasks, organizing cross-squad syncs, and managing administrative engineering overhead to streamline workflows.
- Process & Quality Support: Support the implementation and maintenance of engineering workflows and Quality Management System (QMS) processes, partnering with the Director of Operations to track documentation and process compliance across squads.
What You Bring
- Experience: 3–5 years as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or PMO within a software R&D environment - preferably at a growth-stage tech startup.
- Complex Initiative Tracking: Experience coordinating large-scale engineering initiatives that span multiple R&D teams.
- Jira Proficiency: Strong, hands-on experience structuring Jira projects, configuring components/epics, and building custom dashboards.
- Execution Focus: A strong "get-things-done" mentality. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, picking up diverse operational tasks, and driving accountability across engineers and Product Managers.
- Nice-to-Haves: Experience working within structured processes, quality management frameworks (QMS/ISO/etc.), or compliance-driven environments.
