About the Role

At House of Wonder Forest Lake, you’ll find a welcoming and inspiring place to work, set in a beautifully renovated centre overlooking Hamilton. Our calm, thoughtfully designed spaces are filled with natural materials, creating a warm and enjoyable environment to be part of each day.

As our Centre Cook, you will prepare daily meals in our well-equipped kitchen, following our Healthy Heart approach and Nourish menus. You’ll create food that is both nutritious and enjoyable for young children, with the support of friendly leadership, clear guidelines, and a team that truly values the important work you do.

The Opportunity | Te Aheinga

  • Preparing daily kai for our tamariki

  • Following menu guidelines whilst maintaining kitchen hygiene consistently

  • Supporting our centre with food related routines.


About You | Mou

  • Confident cooking for groups and comfortable following set menus

  • Organised, efficient and able to maintain a clean, well-run kitchen

  • Warm, friendly and able to build rapport with tamariki and whanau

  • Fit and active with good time management

  • A great communicator with a positive, team-centered nature

  • Experience cooking in an ECE centre or similar environment is an advantage
