Position Overview

As an Audit Staff Accountant in our Alpharetta, GA office, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with a variety of clients across multiple industries. Under the guidance of senior team members, you’ll perform audit procedures, prepare workpapers, and help ensure financial reporting accuracy in accordance with GAAP and GAAS. 


Key Responsibilities


Client Engagement & Audit Services

  • Assist with audits, reviews, and compilations for diverse clients
  • Prepare workpapers, test financial transactions, and document findings
  • Support the planning and execution of audit fieldwork
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies
  • Communicate with client contacts to request documents and clarify data

Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in training sessions and on-the-job learning
  • Stay up to date on current accounting and auditing standards
  • Learn audit software and industry tools to build technical skills

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior accountants and managers to meet engagement deadlines
  • Receive and apply feedback to support personal and professional development
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture within the audit department

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting 
  • Foundational knowledge of GAAP and basic understanding of auditing principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with audit software a plus
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Eligible to sit for the CPA exam with intent to pursue certification
  • Prior internship or entry-level experience in public accounting 
  • Familiarity with CaseWare/CaseView or other audit platforms
  • Involvement in professional organizations (e.g., Beta Alpha Psi, AICPA)

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Hybrid work model with flexibility based on client and business needs
  • Occasional travel to client locations
  • Expectation to work extended hours during peak periods (target annual work hours of 2300)
