Job Description
Job Summary**
The Executive Director, Market Head, Private Banking at UOB Hong Kong is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the Private Banking segment within a designated market. This individual will lead a team of private bankers, develop and execute strategic business plans, and ensure the delivery of exceptional client service and wealth management solutions to high-net-worth individuals.
Job Responsibilities**
* Lead, manage, and motivate a team of Private Bankers to achieve and exceed business targets, including AUM growth, revenue generation, and client acquisition and retention.
* Develop and implement comprehensive market strategies aligned with UOB's Private Banking objectives and local market dynamics.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key high-net-worth clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored wealth management solutions.
* Drive new business development initiatives, identifying and converting new client opportunities within the designated market segment.
* Oversee the entire client life cycle, from prospecting and onboarding to ongoing portfolio management and succession planning.
* Ensure full compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards, promoting a culture of integrity and risk awareness.
* Collaborate effectively with product specialists, investment advisors, and other internal stakeholders to deliver holistic client solutions.
* Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
* Manage operational efficiency and effective resource allocation within the market team.
* Provide regular performance reporting and market insights to senior management.
* Act as a brand ambassador for UOB Private Banking in the Hong Kong market.
Job Qualifications**
* Minimum of 15 years of experience in private banking or wealth management, with at least 8-10 years in a leadership or management capacity.
* Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a substantial client portfolio and leading high-performing teams.
* Extensive knowledge of private banking products and services, including investment solutions, lending, trust and estate planning, and wealth advisory.
* Deep understanding of the Hong Kong financial market and regulatory environment.
* Strong understanding of financial planning principles, investment strategies, and risk management.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans and achieve ambitious targets.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Hold relevant licenses and certifications (e.g., SFC Type 1, 4, and 9 licenses) as required by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and Securities and Futures Commission.
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CFA designation is highly preferred.
* Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is essential for effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
* HKMA Type 1 and 4 licensed.
* Holder of ECF on Private Wealth Management (PWM) accredited by Private Wealth
