About the Role

Description

You will be  responsible for the full operation of the burning department including (but not limited to) dryers, kilns, DLAs, car haulage systems, and propane systems. You will be responsible for operation, adjustments, preventive maintenance, repair, quality checks, and shift and daily reports.  Night Shift rotating 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on.

Requirements

  • Must work in a safe manner.  
  • Obey safety signs and warnings.  
  • Be able to learn the full operation of the burning dept and DLA.  
  • Monitor kilns and make adjustments, as needed.  
  • Make daily checks on equipment and repair or report to supervisor, as needed.  
  • Learn the full operation of the automatic transfer cars.  
  • Fill in for other dept employees, when needed.  
  • Learn basic computer skills.  
  • Do daily reports.  
  • Perform daily brick quality tests.  
  • Obtain forklift license. 
  • Knowledge and ability to use hand tools to adjust, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, as needed.   
  • Lift 20-50 lbs constantly and be able to lift 80 lbs occasionally.  
  • Twist, stoop, bend and crawl.  
  • Climb ladders, steps and work in high places.  
  • Work in hot conditions.  
  • Hardhat, safety toe shoes & ear plugs are required.
