About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Director, Costing and Performance within the Decision Support Unit (DSU), the Costing Analyst, Costing and Performance is integral to the effective and accurate delivery of information to staff and stakeholders, primarily relating to the cost and value of providing health services to the population of the ACT and surrounding region. The Unit will leverage reporting capabilities to enhance operational reporting from multiple data sources.
As CHS transitions towards an ABF environment, clinical costing becomes a critical enabler of strategic decision-making. It serves as a foundational component of ABF by providing the financial insights necessary to support informed planning and resource allocation. The role involves collaboration with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to ensure costing reflects clinical practice and aligns with national costing standards.
The Decision Support Unit is led by an Executive Group Manager reporting to the Chief Finance Officer within Canberra Health Services.
The DSU’s role includes:
• | Promoting accountability to achieve strategic goals and building organisational capability to align Activity Based Funding and Operational Planning |
• | Provision of ICT Services for CHS |
• | Provision of data quality |
• | Provision of Health Information Services |
• | Provision of decision support services to enable operational and non-operational planning and quality reporting. |
• | Supporting the efficient use of the Digital Health Record (informatics) and providing the liaison point between CHS and the DHR provider.
