Digital Consultants seeks a Technical Writer III to support the United States Army West Desert Test Center (WDTC) Data Science Division (DSD) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), Utah. Technical Writer develops, edits, maintains, and manages technical and administrative documentation supporting Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) operations. This position supports the creation of policies, procedures, reports, plans, technical manuals, cybersecurity documentation, and operational artifacts to ensure accurate, compliant, and effective communication of technical information in support of WDTC mission requirements.


Location: Dugway, UT 


Duties to include:

  • Develop, edit, format, and maintain technical and administrative documentation supporting IT and IS operations.
  • Prepare and update policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), reports, plans, technical manuals, inventories, and operational documentation.
  • Support development and maintenance of cybersecurity, RMF, compliance, and system authorization documentation.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with Government requirements.
  • Coordinate with Government and contractor personnel to gather, organize, and document technical information.
  • Maintain document repositories, records, and configuration-controlled documentation.
  • Support preparation of status reports, briefings, meeting materials, and other contract deliverables.
  • Assist with the development of knowledge management materials, user guides, and training documentation.
  • Support configuration management and documentation control processes.
  • Provide documentation support for testing, operational, and mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Clearance: Secret
  • Certifications: IAT level I
  • Education: HS Diploma
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience developing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation.
    • Experience preparing policies, procedures, reports, plans, manuals, and operational documentation.
    • Experience supporting technical, cybersecurity, or information technology documentation efforts.
    • Experience supporting document control, records management, and configuration management processes.
    • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal Government environments preferred.
    • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation management tools required.
  • Physical Requirements: The candidate must be able to travel to other worksites as required and with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to sit, stand, use computers and monitors, and perform duties in an office environment for extended periods. The candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion (e.g., moving a case of paper or similar task) that may occur occasionally.
