Description

About LUV Car Wash

Founded in 2021, LUV Car Wash has grown into a nationwide brand with 80+ locations across California, Nevada, Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Built on the unlimited membership model and a commitment to speed, quality, and customer experience, LUV is one of the fastest-growing express car wash companies in the country. Our culture is simple: get stuff done, work as a team, do the right thing, have fun, and LUV what you do.

General Summary of Duties

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will own day-to-day operational performance across all LUV Car Wash locations, providing hands-on leadership to the District Operations (RDO) and District Manager (DM) teams and driving accountability down through General Managers (GMs) and Service Advisors (SAs) at the store level. The COO will report directly to the CDO and serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, translating company strategy into store-level execution, building scalable operating systems, and ensuring consistent performance as the company continues to expand across new and existing markets.

Essential Functions

  • Develop Regional Directors, District Managers, and General Managers into exceptional leaders through consistent coaching, field observation, feedback, and performance management, ensuring leadership capability scales alongside company growth.
  • Own overall operational performance across all locations, ensuring consistent execution of brand, safety, and service standards company-wide.
  • Build and lead a rigorous operating cadence, including weekly business reviews, district performance reviews, store visits, field coaching, and standardized follow-up processes, that ensures commitments are executed and measured.
  • Provide direct leadership and oversight to Regional Directors of Operations (RDO) and District Manager (DM) teams, setting clear performance expectations and holding leaders accountable to results.
  • Build a leadership pipeline by identifying high-potential talent, developing succession plans for key field leadership positions, and ensuring every district has a strong bench of ready-now leaders.
  • Drive the GM and SA operational accountability framework, including scorecards, daily/weekly/monthly execution, and tracking.
  • Ensure every location consistently meets company standards for cleanliness, equipment readiness, safety, customer experience, merchandising, and curb appeal through disciplined field inspections and operational audits.
  • Own and enforce the consequence and recognition framework across all levels of store leadership, ensuring accountability applies consistently to underperformance and that top performers are identified and retained.
  • Partner with the Facilities organization to ensure preventive maintenance execution, maximize equipment uptime, reduce repair costs, and improve asset longevity through operational accountability.
  • Partner with the CDO and CEO to translate company strategy and growth goals into operational plans, budgets, and store-level execution priorities.
  • Own the creation and management of annual operating budgets across all locations, setting financial targets and monitoring performance against them.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives by driving adoption of new processes, technologies, and operating standards across all field teams.
  • Use operational data to identify trends, prioritize resources, remove barriers to execution, and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Membership Sales to align operational execution with membership growth and churn-reduction goals, including ensuring GMs are developed as effective daily sales coaches.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Development, HR, Finance, Facilities, Marketing, and Membership Sales leadership to align operational execution with company-wide priorities.
  • Oversee labor management, staffing models, and workforce planning across locations to support both service quality and profitability.
  • Build and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs), training programs, and onboarding systems for GMs, DMs, and SAs to ensure consistency as the company scales.
  • Build a culture of ownership, urgency, continuous improvement, and high accountability, where leaders are expected to coach, develop, recognize, and address performance consistently.
  • Lead site selection support, new store openings, and operational ramp-up in new and existing markets.
  • Identify and resolve escalated operational issues across markets, acting as the final point of accountability for store-level execution.
  • Support the CDO and executive team in board and investor reporting related to operational performance.

Requirements

 Experience

  • Demonstrated history of improving operational performance across a geographically dispersed, multi-unit organization through leadership development and disciplined execution.
  • 7+ years of progressive operations leadership experience, including multi-unit or multi-site management; car wash, quick-service, retail, or similar high-volume service industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record managing operations across multiple states or regions, including through a district/regional management structure.
  • Demonstrated success in building or scaling accountability systems, scorecards, or performance management frameworks for frontline and leadership roles.
  • Experience leading through periods of rapid growth, including new location openings and expansion into new markets.
  • Strong track record of developing and holding managers accountable to consistent execution and results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across all operating markets.
  • Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership and labor cost management.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to hold leaders at all levels accountable.
  • Proficiency with performance tracking and reporting tools (spreadsheets, dashboards, POS/operational systems).
  • High level of integrity, urgency, and ownership; comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
