Outerland is a 70-person landscaping company seeking a driven and highly organized HR Generalist to join our team. In this role, you will be the steady hand that keeps our employee lifecycle running, ensuring that our team is supported, compliant, and equipped to do their best work.


While you will manage the essential day-to-day operations of HR, success in this role requires rigorous organizational discipline, reliable follow-through, and a genuine commitment to supporting the team.


What You Will Do

  • Build the Team: Own the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing and screening applicants, to coordinating interviews with hiring managers, sending offer letters, and keeping a high-volume pipeline of candidates. Then run a smooth onboarding process so every new hire is trained and integrated into our culture from Day 1.
  • Run the HR Operations: Manage the critical details that keep the business running. Process payroll, administer benefits, and maintain pristine employee records in our HRIS (Paylocity), all while ensuring our processes are consistently followed.
  • Support the Team: Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, handling everything from routine benefits questions to complex workers' comp claims and conflict resolution.

  • Organizational Mastery: You have exceptional organizational skills. You can manage complex compliance and payroll tasks without letting details slip through the cracks.
  • A "Get It Done" Mindset: You are a self-starter who enjoys the variety of a fast-paced business. You are able to pivot between tasks efficiently and take initiative to keep everything on track.
  • Tech Proficiency: You have experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity is a plus) and are comfortable using technology to streamline people operations.
