Description

This is a full-time, direct placement role at CKP Heating & Cooling.

CKP Heating & Cooling is a growing, family-owned mechanical contractor committed to delivering exceptional HVAC solutions throughout residential, commercial, and industrial markets. With in-house design, fabrication, construction, and service capabilities, CKP has built a reputation for quality craftsmanship, integrity, and developing long-term relationships with both customers and employees.

We are seeking an experienced Traveling HVAC Project Foreman / Project Manager to oversee a large-scale project in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This individual will serve as the on-site leader, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong field leader who can effectively manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, communicate with project stakeholders, and maintain project momentum from mobilization through completion.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading complex HVAC construction projects while traveling to support major company initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations for assigned HVAC construction projects.
  • Coordinate project activities from pre-construction through final completion.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining quality workmanship.
  • Develop daily and weekly work plans for field personnel.
  • Monitor project milestones and proactively address scheduling conflicts.

Crew & Personnel Management

  • Supervise HVAC installers, sheet metal mechanics, apprentices, and subcontractors.
  • Assign daily responsibilities and monitor productivity.
  • Mentor and train field personnel while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Maintain positive morale and foster a culture of professionalism and safety.
  • Conduct jobsite meetings and communicate project expectations.

Project Coordination

  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, General Contractors, and owners.
  • Schedule manpower, equipment, and material deliveries.
  • Identify and resolve field issues before they impact production.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, daily reports, and progress updates.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all HVAC installations meet company quality standards and project specifications.
  • Verify compliance with local building codes and mechanical regulations.
  • Perform jobsite inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
  • Oversee system startup, testing, and commissioning activities when required.

Budget & Production

  • Monitor labor productivity and help control project costs.
  • Track installed quantities and production goals.
  • Assist with forecasting manpower and material requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining workmanship.

Safety

  • Promote and enforce company safety policies at all times.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and jobsite inspections.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance and proper use of PPE.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC construction experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an HVAC Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, equipment installation, and mechanical construction
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specifications
  • Experience managing multiple crews and coordinating subcontractors
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • EPA Certification preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large commercial construction projects
  • Experience with hospitals, schools, multifamily, retail, industrial, or mixed-use facilities
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Experience coordinating with General Contractors and owners
  • Mechanical estimating or scheduling experience is a plus

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires extended travel to Port St. Lucie, Florida, for the duration of the project.
  • Company-paid travel, lodging, and per diem (where applicable).
  • Ability to work extended hours and occasional weekends as project schedules require.
