MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Radiology Tech I, demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations checked below:

  • Performing routine radiographic procedures for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.                                    
  • Performing routine fluoroscopic procedures for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.                                     
  • Practicing radiation safety.                                
  • Utilizing correct patient positioning, and exposure factors.                                  
  • Providing appropriate patient care for imaging IV, O2, IV Pump, etc.                   
  • Practicing appropriate infection control.                         
  • Assessing quality and appropriateness of images with minimal supervision.        
  • Transporting patients when needed.                               
  • Maintaining patient records and documentation accurately.                                  
  • Charging supplies accurately.                            
  • Reporting equipment malfunctions to supervisor immediately.                             
  • Participating in routine cleaning of radiology equipment.                         
  • Using resources in a cost effective manner.                                
  • Performing and/or participating in the Imaging Services Process Improvement, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and MQSA activities as may be required.                        
  • Conforming, performing and/or participating in all mandated and/or voluntary programs of the Imaging services to comply with the provisions of TJC, DHS, and any regulatory agency requirement

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited Radiology Technology School                                                           

Preferred Education: 

  • Associate’s Degree in Radiology Technology - preferred.

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • One year of clinical experience.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

  • State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Certification
  • State of California Certified Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy (CRT) Certification
  • Credentialed in American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) preferred 
  • Additional Certification for each qualified imaging modality
  • Mammography certification will be required for Mammography                                                    
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)

Hours: 8hrs (3:00pm - 11:30am)
