Liberty Oil Australia operate a regional network of fuel depots and distribute billions of litres of fuel a year, making Liberty one of the largest wholesalers operating across Australia.
Whilst Liberty Oil is owned by Viva Energy Australia, one of Australia’s leading energy companies, it remains at its core an independent wholesale subsidiary with the advantage of being able to obtain support from the broader Viva Energy network.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be able to grow the business with emphasis on growing the customer base. The specific growth is roughly bordered by Charters Towers, Hughendon, Barcaaldin, Claremont, Mackay, Bowen
Role Responsibilities and Contributions
- Drive customer-led profitability by developing strong relationships and executing effective sales strategies
- Achieve sales performance targets across revenue, gross profit, and debtor management
- Identify and respond to market trends, competitor activity, and risks to protect and grow the customer base
- Contribute to business growth through strategy development, implementation, and key commercial projects
- Collaborate across functions to deliver financial performance and overall business outcomes, including P&L contribution
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements while maintaining strong operational discipline
- Demonstrate leadership by modelling organisational values, sound judgement, and accountability
- Proactively manage and escalate risks, issues, and opportunities, while supporting a positive, team-oriented culture
Qualifications
Role Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in sales leadership with accountability for revenue, profitability, and debtor management
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing or contributing to P&L outcomes
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships and drive business growth
- Experience identifying market trends, risks, and competitive activity, with the ability to respond strategically
- Ability to lead and influence across functions, contributing to broader business initiatives and projects
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Sound judgement, decision-making capability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and risk management
- Commitment to demonstrating organisational values, ethical behaviour, and compliance with all regulatory and company standards
