About The Company
From rescue helicopters to signing the Equator Principles, from paying super during parental leave to adding 'Touch ID' biometric technology to our banking apps and being first on the scene with a helping hand in times of crisis... we have a proud history of stepping up to be first for our customers, communities and people. As Australia’s first bank and Australia’s first company we put service at the heart of everything we do and our people are our priority. We've grown up as a company and expanded both in Australia and throughout Asia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Now we are made up of your favourite financial institution names including Westpac, BankSA, St.George Bank, BT Financial Group, RAMs and Bank of Melbourne, a change of job doesn’t mean a change of employer at Westpac Group. We've made a commitment to put our customers first in everything we do. This means creating fundamentally superior customer experiences for each customer, every time. We promise that when you meet with someone from Westpac Group, you'll be touched by their genuine dedication to helping our customers prosper and grow. Westpac Group acknowledges the traditional owners as the custodians of this land, recognising their connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to Australia's First Peoples, and to their Elders, past and present.
About the Role
  • Part-time opportunity available across Westpac’s Muswellbrook and Scone branches
  • Work as part of your local communities
  • Hours: 29 hours per week across Mon – Fri
  • 12-month mat leave contract available until June 2027

As a Personal Banking Advisor, you’ll be at the heart of our branch network, welcoming our customers to Westpac and engaging in meaningful conversations to uncover their needs and provide them with tailored banking solutions. You will utilise your product knowledge to assist customers in achieving their financial goals – both in-person and over the phone – and referring them on to our specialised Banking teams when necessary. This is a rewarding role which will see your dedication and expertise empower customers to make the most of their money, each and every day!

This is a 12-month mat leave contract available until June 2027. Future permanent opportunities may become available. This part-time, branch-based role covers shifts at both our Muswellbrook and Scone branches, so you must be able to travel between each. Hours are as follows:

  • Mon: 9am – 4.30pm (Muswellbrook)
  • Tue: 9.30am – 2.30pm (Scone)
  • Wed: 9.30am – 2.30pm (Scone)
  • Thu: 9.30am – 2.30pm (Scone)
  • Fri: 9am – 4.30pm (Muswellbrook)

What do I need?

  • Customer service and sales experience, ideally in a customer-facing / phone-based role with experience of working to targets
  • Resilience, with an ability to remain calm and composed whilst managing challenging situations
  • Comfortable in working towards sales / referral targets and calling customers over the phone
  • Numerical capability, ideally with proficiency in cash handling and counting, with ability to complete financial transactions with accuracy
  • An energetic personality coupled with a genuine passion for helping people!
  • The will to learn and adapt to new banking procedures and technologies

No banking experience? No problem. Your vibrant personality, eagerness to learn and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer service are key to excel in this role. At Westpac, we’re committed to your success from day one. You will receive comprehensive training on our banking products and services and our supportive team will provide hands-on guidance and resources to help you master everything you need to flourish in your new role. We’re here to empower you with the knowledge and skills to thrive and advance your career with us!
