Job Description
As the Director of Revenue Management, you will be responsible for maximizing the hotel's overall revenue and profitability through effective pricing, inventory management, forecasting, and commercial strategies. You will work closely with the General Manager, Director of Sales & Marketing, Reservations, and other operational departments to optimize business performance while ensuring alignment with the hotel's commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement revenue management strategies to maximize hotel revenue and profitability.
- Analyze market demand, historical trends, and booking pace to optimize pricing and inventory.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual forecasts for rooms, meetings, and other revenue-generating areas.
- Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, revenue performance, and market trends to identify revenue opportunities.
- Manage pricing strategies across all distribution channels while ensuring rate integrity.
- Maintain and optimize revenue management systems, Opera PMS, CRS, and related commercial platforms.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and market analysis, providing strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Lead weekly Revenue Strategy Meetings and present performance analysis, forecasts, and commercial recommendations.
- Collaborate closely with Sales & Marketing to develop pricing strategies for transient, corporate, agency, wholesale, and group business.
- Evaluate group requests, displacement analysis, and business mix to maximize total hotel profitability.
- Support annual budgeting, business planning, forecasting, and financial performance reviews.
- Identify new revenue opportunities and develop initiatives to improve overall commercial performance.
- Ensure all pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies are implemented accurately and consistently.
- Monitor reservation trends and oversee reservation performance, including upselling initiatives and productivity metrics.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the Reservations team on revenue management principles and sales techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field (Master's degree is an asset).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Revenue Management within the hospitality industry, including 3+ years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of hotel revenue management principles, pricing strategies, forecasting, budgeting, and demand analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Opera PMS, Central Reservation Systems (CRS), channel management platforms, and revenue management systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and business performance.
- Experience in forecasting, budgeting, displacement analysis, group evaluation, and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of hotel commercial operations, including Sales, Reservations and Front Office.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Reservations, Front Office, and Executive Management.
