SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Chef Manager provides leadership and oversight for all kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu planning, inventory, food safety, and staff/volunteer supervision. This role ensures that meals are nutritious, appealing, and efficiently prepared and served to guests, staff, and volunteers in a manner that reflects Lifepath’s mission, vision, and values. The Chef Manager fosters a Christ-centered, supportive environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, storage, and distribution of donated goods and supplies.
- Coordinate the receipt, inspection, and documentation of donations, ensuring accuracy and proper recording.
- Maintain organized inventory systems to ensure adequate stock levels and efficient product rotation.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food, clothing, hygiene items, and other donated goods in compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate delivery and distribution of supplies to various departments within the facility.
- Train, supervise, and provide direction to volunteers and guests assisting in the warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and loss.
- Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts if applicable) safely and ensure routine maintenance.
- Monitor cleanliness and organization of warehouse spaces.
- Collaborate with Food Services and other departments to support operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reporting related to inventory and donations.
- Provide guidance, structure, and encouragement to guests participating in warehouse tasks.
Other Duties:
- Other duties as assigned.
- Participate in weekly meetings and monthly trainings.
- Assist with special donation drives, events, and seasonal distribution efforts.
Requirements
Qualifications and Education:
- Two or more years of warehouse or inventory management experience (nonprofit experience preferred) • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supervising volunteers or teams is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, volunteers, and guests.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, inventory systems, email, and internet use.
- Ability to manage logistics and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Able and willing to model Christ-likeness in conduct and conversation as described in organizational core values.
- Exhibits patience, discernment, and accountability while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Other Factors to Consider:
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 100 pounds or more with assistance as needed.
- Manual dexterity and ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong auditory and visual skills to oversee operations and ensure safety.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
- Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with insurance requirements.
- Possess or have the ability to obtain forklift certification (if applicable).
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a DOT physical card if required.
