Summary Of Position: Morphe seeks an experienced Senior Counsel to work directly with the Chief Legal Officer on various legal matters. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including privacy and data protection, contract review and a playbook of form agreements leveraging AI tools, compliance and business advising, This new position will work closely with the marketing, commercial, finance, regulatory, quality, people and operations functions and reports to the Chief Legal Officer.
Principal Accountabilities
· Manage an AI empowered CLM system and coordinate internal approvals and signatures.
· Lead global privacy compliance and data protection efforts.
· Assist in the development of legal, compliance and operational policies, controls and guidance documents following a gap assessment of IPO and/or sale readiness.
· Assist with intellectual property enforcement, prosecution, and maintenance and with licensing matters. Coordinate with external IP counsel to maintain database and calendar and to provide evidence of commercial usage of Morphe’s trademarks.
· Provide litigation/dispute support and manage a tracker to maintain matter status, including taking an active role in developing initial answers to interrogatories, requests for admissions, document requests, and responding to subpoenas that are served
· Maintain legal entity compliance and registration and reporting, including state registrations and annual filings, registered agent relationships, business licenses and permits, etc. in partnership with Finance.
· Assist with corporate governance development and compliance efforts across the enterprise.
· Provide high caliber, proactive legal and risk management advice to executives, managers, and employees with respect to a range of legal issues affecting the business.
· Handle other corporate matters (employment, real estate, etc.) as they arise.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to other Morphe locations.

Additional Information
Morphe takes a market-based approach to pay, and amounts will vary depending on your geographic location. The salary range reflected here is for positions based in the Los Angeles Area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future without notice.
Compensation Range: $180,000 - $200,000
Location: Los Angeles; hybrid position with minimum three days onsite at corporate office.
The Company reserves the right to alter, change, abolish and even combine jobs depending upon changing conditions.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
· 6-8 years of experience with an in-house legal department and top law firm, preferably with corporate transactional experience.
· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top law school.
· Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication, negotiating, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
· Very strong attention to detail.
· Sound judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business impact in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to work well with a small, tightly knit team, and the range to deal effectively with everyone across the organization from senior management to warehouse personnel.
· Ability and desire to seek responsibility, work autonomously and exercise independent judgment in performing the job. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with strong independent execution.
· Consumer products and beauty industry experience preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel as well as AI tools, such as GC AI, Markify, Claude and enterprise chatGPT
· Experience with international businesses strongly preferred.
· Must exhibit excellent judgment and strategic thinking, providing practical, proactive solutions designed to meet legal and regulatory requirements while balancing business needs.
· Outstanding verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
· Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations.
· Member in good standing of the California bar.
