[What the role is]

Senior Research Executive (Molecular Diagnostics)

[What you will be working on]

We are looking for a Senior Research Executive to join our R&D team to support the development of a LAMP-CRISPR-based eDNA detection system for rapid, onsite diagnosis, surveillance, and biosecurity monitoring of aquaculture pathogens. The responsibilities would include the following:

  • Carry out CRISPR-based diagnostic projects. 

  • Provide support to colleagues, project teams and stakeholders within own area of expertise.

  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with regulations.

  • Help in efficient functioning of the lab by placing and receiving supplies and maintaining supply inventory.

  • Maintain and ensure equipment functionality by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, arranging repairs.

  • Document results by maintaining logs, charting data and preparing reports.

  • Maintain confidentiality of research information, keep project leader informed of results and highlight any unusual findings.

  • Keep professional knowledge current by participating in educational opportunities, learning new skills, reading technical bulletins and engaging with researchers.

[What we are looking for]

  • Qualification in Molecular & Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics or related fields.

  • Prior experience in molecular biology, CRISPR-based diagnostics will be preferred.

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.

  • Exhibits meticulous attention to detail with practiced documentation skills, committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.

  • Adherence to safety procedures in maintaining a safe work environment.
