Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Manager oversee daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage outlets, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. This role includes supervising hourly staff, coordinating with kitchen and banquet teams, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations. As a non-exempt position, this role is eligible for overtime pay under California wage and hour laws. Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight
• Supervise restaurant, bar, pantry, and banquet service operations
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in all F&B areas
• Maintain inventory and coordinate ordering of supplies and products
Staff Supervision
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of F&B team members
• Schedule staff in compliance with meal/rest break and overtime rules
• Monitor timekeeping accuracy and approve hours worked
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members
• Ensure all employees follow uniform and appearance standards
Guest Service
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
• Promote upselling and guest engagement strategies
• Ensure consistent service standards across shifts and outlets
Compliance & Safety
• Enforce food safety protocols and health department standards
• Ensure compliance with California wage and hour laws, including:
o Overtime pay for hours worked over 8/day or 40/week o Meal and rest break scheduling and documentation o Accurate timekeeping and reporting
• Support alcohol service compliance (e.g., RBS certification, ID checks)
• Maintain documentation for inspections, training, and safety procedures
Administrative Duties
• Assist with payroll corrections and tip reporting
• Track training completion and maintain records
• Support budget goals and cost control measures
• Participate in weekly management meetings and reporting
Requirements
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of managerial experience in food and beverage or hospitality
• ServSafe and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) • Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Proficiency in POS systems and basic inventory tools
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly • Perform duties in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are the responsibilities of those an associate will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts, occasionally works in outside weather conditions, and is frequently exposed to vibration. The associate is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate occasionally works in high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment varies. The associate will most often work alone.
