About the Role

Description

The Maintenance department is expanding supervisory coverage to all four shifts and has an opening for a Shift Supervisor covering Day Shift Thursday- Saturday and every other Wednesday.


Position Objective

The objective of the Maintenance Supervisor is to optimize the maintenance efforts keep our machines running safely and efficiently so that production goals are not impeded by mechanical down time in an environment where product quality and food safety are paramount. This is accomplished through leading their assigned team of technicians, collaboration with the Production team, QA, and Sanitation under the general guidance of the Maintenance Director.

Position Essential Functions

  • ALWAYS work safely, follow all safety protocols, ensure your team does the same so all our people go home in the same condition in which they arrived
  • Actively lead, schedule, train and develop the maintenance team ensuring a thorough understanding of and ability to execute area of responsibility with excellence 
  • Ensure direct reports are operating within established guidelines and coach, review, re-direct, discipline and document when necessary to ensure the maintenance team is successful
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner, treating all with respect resulting in an environment conducive to high morale and productivity.
  • Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations as well as coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors, and external vendors
  • Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and store room
  • Prepare maintenance plans that are aligned with the organization’s maintenance goals
  • Work with outside vendors, subject matter experts, and trainers when needed to maintain up to date processes and knowledge


Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual performance reviews of your direct reports, developing goals with them to inspire their growth. 
  • Manage attendance policies and time keeping system for your direct reports.
  • Provide conflict resolution.
  • Act as a safety incident responder, administers first aid when needed and participates in emergency evacuation sweeps.

A high school diploma or equivalent and 2yr industrial maintenance related technical training certification and/or a minimum of 7+ year(s) of manufacturing maintenance experience are required.  A bachelor or associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or related are preferred; or any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Ability to develop and maintain a Reliability Centered Preventive maintenance program
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and provide direction to others
  • Solid competency with trouble shooting, electrical controls, variable speed drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, schematics and welding
  • Excellent decision-making skills, balancing the goals of production, down/up time with department and Company goals.
  • Must exhibit positive leadership as demonstrated by a unified and collaborative team.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with outside contractors, vendors, trainers, etc
