The Role
 

Our School Based Health Centers (SBHC) Program is looking for a licensed mental health practitioner with related experience to staff a school-based outpatient clinic in Stamford, Connecticut. This is a 10-month position and is based on the approved public-school calendar. SBHC mental health clinicians provide health education (both large and small group instruction) and individual, family, and group counseling to students in middle and high schools, often working as part of interdisciplinary health care teams with nurse practitioners and health educators.  

Full-time work schedule for the SBHC clinician position is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-2:30pm.

 

Requirements 

  • Completion of master’s or post-master’s degree from an accredited counseling program
  • Active licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LPCA, LMFT) in Connecticut, or the ability to obtain CT licensure
  • Experience working with middle school students and their families preferred
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural experience strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical skills and experience using evidence-based models with children and families
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to relationship building, resource development, and creating equitable access
  • Ability to engage in therapeutic practices in accordance with all HIPAA, state, federal, licensing, and accrediting bodies
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records


Compensation 
 
 
$60,000 - $65,000 per 10-month school year
