Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and execute HR strategies in Japan, ensuring alignment with corporate goals while adhering to local regulations and cultural nuances. This role requires a dynamic leader who can foster employee engagement, drive talent development, and implement effective HR operations to support our growing team.

The Job
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing advice on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.
Talent Acquisition and Management
- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
- Develop talent pipelines through partnerships with local universities, recruitment agencies, and professional networks.
- Manage performance review processes and support managers in goal-setting and appraisals.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Handle conflict resolution, grievances, and disciplinary actions in compliance with Japanese labor laws.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
HR Operations and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market trends.
- Oversee payroll processing and accuracy in coordination with finance teams.
Learning and Development
- Identify training needs and develop learning programs to support employee growth.
- Implement leadership development initiatives for emerging leaders.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
Change Management
- Lead HR projects, such as policy updates, system implementations, and cultural change initiatives.
- Support organizational changes, including restructures, mergers, or expansions.
Qualifications
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience
- 7+ years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Experience in the Japanese market and familiarity with local labor laws and HR practices.
- Proven track record in talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development.
Skills
- Proficient in Japanese and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in HR systems and tools, such as Workday, or similar platforms.
