Position Overview


We currently have an opportunity available for a Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Environmental Team in our Kenosha, WI office. The selected candidate will assist with the planning, design, and construction phase services for a wide variety of wastewater, potable water and storm water infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Performs design tasks including computations and analysis for municipal infrastructure including, wastewater treatment plants, sanitary sewers, lift stations and storm water facilities.
  • Applies engineering principals to develop solutions and evaluate performance and life cycle cost of municipal infrastructure improvements.
  • Creates drawings and models following the company’s design standards and utilizing the designated CAD or modeling software with limited guidance.
  • Assists with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, supporting documents and permit applications.
  • Assists with construction phase services for water and wastewater treatment facilities and for sanitary sewer, potable water, and storm sewer infrastructure projects.
  • Interprets construction plans and documents for the contractor and client, interface with operators regarding potential interference with operations,
  • Assists with full or preliminary review of shop drawings, submittals, change orders, punch lists and contractor as-builts.
  • Assists with maintaining project documentation, daily reports of construction site activity, project files, RFIs and submittals.
  • Participates in progress meetings and assists in equipment startup and project close-out.
  • Drafts correspondence, reports and communicates effectively with project stakeholders. 
  • Participates in securing work from new and existing clients and maintains client relationships. 

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering is required. M.S. degree is preferred.
  • IL or WI PE license is required 
  • 6+ years of experience in hydraulics with emphasis on one or more of the following areas: wastewater treatment, water treatment, water distribution, or storm water modeling.
  • Ability to accurately perform calculations to support detailed design recommendations.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to write technical reports and actively participate in project meetings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members from multiple offices.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D), WaterCAD, SWMM, GIS is desired.
  • Experience in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HEC-GeoRAS, XP-SWMM, Biowin and/or other similar software packages is desired.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to projects sites are required. 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary range: $89,960 – $118,560 + annual performance bonus.
