Job Description

  • 2x 0.6 FTE positions available, Max-Term until December 2027 (with possible extension)
  • Rostered split working model - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, plus one Saturday per fortnight.
  • Based across city of Whitehorse on the lands of the Wurundjeri People, with community-based and flexible working conditions
  • Competitive salary – SACS Level 4 + 12% Super + Salary Packaging up to $18,550

Make your work matter where it’s needed most
Join Each’s Youth Outreach team, supporting young people aged 10–25 to connect with the right services at the right time. Working within the Child, Youth and Family Wellbeing team, you’ll provide a safe, accessible entry point into support across the local community.

Your role, your impact
You’ll play a vital role in supporting young people to navigate challenges, strengthen connections, and access the supports they need to thrive. Through outreach and early intervention, you’ll meet young people where they are—building trust, offering practical support, and helping create meaningful pathways forward.

  • Deliver outreach services – Engage young people through community-based support, triage, and short-term intervention
  • Assess needs holistically – Use a person-centred approach to understand needs and guide next steps
  • Build strong partnerships – Collaborate with schools, services, and community organisations
  • Coordinate referrals – Facilitate warm referrals and connect young people to ongoing supports
  • Plan group programs – Design and deliver programs based on local youth needs
  • Maintain documentation – Record accurate, timely case notes and data
  • Work flexibly – Engage across outreach settings, including occasional weekend work

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience supporting young people – At least 2 years’ experience, including outreach as a core practice approach
  • Strong communication skills – Ability to build trust and engage diverse communities
  • Stakeholder collaboration – Experience working with schools, services and community partners
  • Assessment and referral capability – Confidence in triage, brief intervention and connecting young people to appropriate supports
  • Independent and team capability – Comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively
  • Understanding of youth challenges – Awareness of social, health, and wellbeing factors impacting young people
  • Adaptable approach – Confidence working in flexible, community-based environments
  • Relevant qualifications – Bachelor of Social Work or Qualification in Youth Work or a related field
  • First Aid certification – Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • Driver’s licence and vehicle access – Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
