Position Summary
Glenmoor Country Club is seeking friendly, energetic Bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team. This position provides exceptional Food and Beverage service while creating a welcoming experience for members and their guests. The Bartender prepares cocktails and beverages with speed, accuracy and consistency, maintains a clean, stocked, and organized bar, and delivers the outstanding hospitality that defines the Glenmoor Member experience. Successful applicants will exhibit the ability to service Members at an 18-seat bar top, standing walk-up patrons, along with 5+ high tops in the bar area – whilst executing service bar requirements. Two bartenders are often scheduled to have their shifts overlap (open/mid/close).
Eligible Food & Beverage team members participate in Glenmoor's Automatic Gratuity Program in addition to their hourly wage. As a private country club, Glenmoor does not operate under a traditional tipping model. Instead, gratuities are shared among eligible Food & Beverage Team Members through the Club's Automatic Gratuity Program, reinforcing our team-based approach to delivering exceptional Member service. We also offer complimentary and paid employee meal breaks during your shift, employee uniforms, and golf privileges on Mondays (subject to Supervisor approval)
Key Responsibilities
Member Experience
- Greet Members warmly but professionally, using the Member’s last name and preferred salutation (Mr., Ms., Mrs. Dr.).
- Provide attentive, friendly, and professional service.
- Engage Members in a knowledgeable and approachable manner.
- Anticipate needs and respond promptly to requests or special accommodations.
Beverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of all Food & Beverage menus, drink recipes, and daily features.
- Suggest and recommend food and beverage pairings.
- Provide wine and bottle service as appropriate.
- Enter orders accurately using Club Essential POS, ensuring all drinks are properly charged to the correct Member account.
- Deliver food and drinks using proper service techniques and trays when needed.
Bar Setup & Maintenance
- Stock and organize the bar with necessary products and supplies.
- Wash, polish, and maintain glassware and bar tools.
- Prepare garnishes and cut fruit.
- Change kegs and restock inventory as needed.
- Keep bar stations clean, organized, and presentation-ready throughout entire shift.
- Complete opening, continuous, and closing side work.
Teamwork & Service Standards
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure smooth service.
- Assist with buffet and special event setup and breakdown.
- Attend pre-shift lineups.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service policies.
- Monitor Member and guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service practices.
- Report Member concerns or operational issues to management.
- Support teammates during busy service periods, through all facets, including but not limited to food running, bussing the dining areas, filling water, etc.
Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and hospitality-oriented demeanor.
- Previous bartending experience required.
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, and beer, including brand specifics, distilling and fermentation processes
- Continued efforts to improve on knowledge of industry trends and local dining trends.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Team-oriented with a relentlessly positive attitude – despite challenging environments.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry kegs, cases, and supplies up to 40–50 pounds occasionally.
- Perform frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive motions.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
- Work safely around wet floors, hot surfaces, and restaurant equipment.
