Responsible for publishing insights on house view, macroeconomic outlook, stock coverage, and thematic ideas to drive positive investment performance, while ensuring active risk management and meeting regulatory and internal compliance expectations.

YOUR CHALLENGE

General Description

The Research Analyst is a key member of the Research Asia team, responsible for providing high quality research analysis and investment insights.

The primary responsibilities of this role include writing research on thematic investing opportunities, collating regular publications, and providing administrative support to the team. Other key aspects include selected stock coverage and performing regular updates and lifecycle management of investment views. The individual shall stay attuned to shifting global and regional landscapes, regulatory developments, and economic conditions. Further, the individual shall also support/participate in internal meetings and campaigns/ initiatives.

Key Features of the position

People management

  • Contribute to the strengthening of the team spirit and the fostering of a collaborative work environment

  • Build impactful relationships with stakeholders across the Bank

Client management (internal & external)

  • Provide regular insights on the house view, macroeconomic outlook and trends, selected stock coverage as well as thematic/sector-based ideas, focused on positive investment performance

  • Perform regular updates and lifecycle management of investment views and stock coverage

  • Stay abreast of global and regional market trends, regulatory developments and macroeconomic conditions, providing expert analysis/insights, when relevant

  • Deliver timely commentary and analysis ahead of and after significant market events to support client engagement

  • Support/participate in internal meetings and campaigns/initiatives

  • Support relationship managers in client/prospect meetings, as needed

Business management

  • Support the team’s strategic objectives and operational goals, driving business outcomes and results

  • Provide administrative support to the team, as needed

  • Identify opportunities to enhance functional efficiency and productivity, proposing process improvements and workflow optimisations, where relevant/appropriate

Regulatory responsibilities &/or risk management

  • Meet all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards/requirements

  • Adhere to the standards and expectations outlined in the relevant user manuals and guidelines

  • Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including, but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

YOUR PROFILE

Personal & social

  • Able to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds in a highly articulate and professional manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills, empathic personality, charisma, and power of persuasion
  • Open and approachable as well as displaying genuine interest in people
  • Drive for results
  • Strong ability for planning, organising, and communicating a clear vision
  • Good judgement and ability to work under pressure
  • Sound affinity with the geographic market(s) to be covered
  • Relevant linguistic proficiency & cultural awareness

Professional & technical

  • 5 years or more of private banking knowledge or experience, specifically in a research role
  • Relevant higher educational and professional background; CFA or equivalent an advantage
  • Good command of financial analytical skills, especially in the equities and fixed income space
  • Strong commercial judgement, business acumen and a broad understanding of the financial markets and products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
