JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and driving effective financial management for the Radio business. The incumbent will oversee end-to-end reporting, support business decision-making, and lead a team to deliver accurate and timely financial insights.

What You’ll Do:

Financial Reporting & Closing

  • Oversee and manage month-end closing activities in accordance with Group timelines

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial and accounting records through robust controls and verification processes

  • Prepare monthly management accounts in line with business and management requirements

  • Perform detailed analysis of revenue, operating expenditure (OPEX), and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for management review

Statutory Reporting & Compliance

  • Act as the key liaison for external audit and statutory reporting processes

  • Ensure compliance with MFRS and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements

  • Oversee balance sheet integrity across entities within the Radio Group

  • Undertake periodic asset impairment assessments and sensitivity analysis

  • Prepare statutory reporting packs, including submissions to relevant authorities (e.g. Department of Statistics)

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process aligned with business objectives and 3-year business plans

  • Prepare monthly forecasts, including variance analysis and insights

  • Monitor production cost budgets and utilisation

Cost Allocation & Tax

  • Ensure accurate cross-charging and cost allocation within the Radio group in line with transfer pricing requirements

  • Collaborate with Corporate Tax on tax computation, filing, and payments

Analysis & Business Partnering

  • Analyse revenue trends using market data, surveys, and industry indicators

  • Partner with business units to understand operational drivers and financial impact

  • Support evaluation of business initiatives, investments, and cost optimisation opportunities

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team

  • Strengthen business unit segmental reporting

  • Prepare reports and presentation materials for Board and Senior Leadership Team (monthly, quarterly, annually)

  • Manage dividend declaration processes and documentation

  • Liaise effectively with stakeholders across the Astro Group

Continuous Improvement & Projects

  • Drive process improvements in reporting, systems, and operational efficiency

  • Support or lead ad hoc projects as assigned by HOD and Director of Astro Audio

REQUIREMENTS:

Who You Are:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA)

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including audit experience in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm

  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax matters

  • Experience in complex GL structures, cost allocation, and multi-entity environments

  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems (SAP experience is an advantage)

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance operations

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • High attention to detail and strong sense of accountability

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team

  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
