Position Summary:

Responsible for the care and treatment of physical therapy patients as outlined in the initial evaluation treatment plan. Provide care to improve and restore movement and function, to relieve pain and to prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.

  • Provides rehabilitation physical therapy care to inpatients and outpatients inclusive of, but not limited to modality/exercise treatments, wound care and modality and gait training.
  • Documentation of process notes and flow sheets/charts according to guidelines of the department, Medicare, Worker’s Compensation or other specific payors.
  • Patient, family and community education.
  • Provides ongoing assessment of patient progress and the need for continued physical therapy care in daily progress notes.
  • Works jointly with the physical therapist following the outlined treatment plan and recommending changes in the treatment plan as assessed.

Minimum Education:

  • Graduate of APTA two year PTA program with an Associate’s degree.

  • N/A

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience preferred.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

  • Current and Valid State of California License.
    • Eligible for membership in the APTA and must adhere to Code of Ethics of the APTA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current and Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (within 30 days of employment)
