About the Role

JOB TITLE: Cook

REPORTS TODirector of Nutritional Services

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Cook performs a variety of duties in the preparation of various food products. Prepares, seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.

This job requires that the employee to prepare patients’ meal, following therapeutic recipes, ensuring that department standards and compliance with all safe food handling regulations are met. This Job will also require the employee to cross train in all areas of the department including, but not limited to, cook, dishwasher, clerk (menu processing, tray line), S1 (Starter 1), S2 (Starter 2), KA (Kitchen Aid), chef, cashier, sandwich cart, and store room clerk, as well as other duties as assigned. Processing menus. Performs all other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way would be:

Education: High School or equivalent.

Experience/Requirements: None required. 6 months preferred which includes Training in institutional food preparation.

Licensure/Certification: Food Handler's Certification required. Servsafe preferred.
