Position Purpose: Under the direction of departmental leadership and the Diagnostic Imaging Center Supervisor, the Diagnostic Imaging Center Assistant Supervisor supports the coordination of daily operations, including staff scheduling, patient flow, work assignments, and operational workflows. This role assists in monitoring staff performance to ensure adherence to clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements while providing day-to-day leadership and operational support.
The Assistant Supervisor helps oversee the daily operations of a full-service Diagnostic Imaging Center, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care across multiple imaging modalities. Working in partnership with the Supervisor, this position assists with the supervision of clinical and support staff and helps maintain efficient workflows across service lines, including diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, mammography, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, MRI, and other specialized imaging procedures.
This role supports quality assurance initiatives, assists in maintaining compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations—including radiation safety standards, NCQA, and MQSA—and helps ensure that equipment, procedures, and clinical practices meet established standards. The Assistant Supervisor also supports staff training and development, assists in addressing patient concerns, contributes to process improvement initiatives, and serves as a resource for staff to promote operational efficiency, exceptional patient experiences, and quality clinical outcomes.
Acting as a liaison between frontline staff, the Supervisor, and departmental leadership, the Assistant Supervisor helps ensure that day-to-day operations align with departmental objectives and organizational goals. This position assumes supervisory responsibilities in the Supervisor's absence and provides operational support as needed.
This role requires strong knowledge across multiple imaging modalities, excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively lead and support staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining a focus on safety, compliance, and quality patient care.
Work Schedule:
- FTOC is an in-person organization first, and foremost. Employees are expected to be on-site for their scheduled shifts.
- Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., however, employee schedules vary, depending on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs. As such, FTOC may need to modify work schedules to meet such needs.
- Holidays and weekends may be required depending on an employee’s department due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs as FTOC continues to grow and expand work days and hours.
- Overtime may also occur due to organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
