About the Role

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

THE WHY

At blackwave, we build the production systems behind the next generation of aerospace components. In this role, you turn engineering concepts into reliable hardware by building, maintaining, and improving the machines and tools that make our production possible.

THE WHAT

You are the hands-on expert who keeps our production environment running reliably and efficiently. From assembling fixtures to troubleshooting and optimizing equipment, you take ownership of the systems that enable our manufacturing.

You ensure:

machines, fixtures, and tools are built and improved to high quality standards
mechanical issues are identified and solved proactively
technical drawings become functional hardware
improvements are implemented together with production, engineering, and automation teams

You don’t just maintain equipment. You understand it, improve it, and own it.

Your tasks in detail and by priority:

Build and optimize production equipment:
Assemble, modify, and improve machines, fixtures, and tools based on technical drawings.
→ High Performance: Precision at speed. Build it right the first time.

Create and adapt mechanical components:
Manufacture and adjust metal components using machining and hand tools.
→ Craftsmanship: Quality is built into every detail.

Maintain and troubleshoot systems:
Perform maintenance, analyze mechanical issues, and ensure reliable production equipment.
→ Accountability: Own the equipment. Own the outcome.

Support improvements and new equipment:
Assist with commissioning and continuously improve existing systems together with engineering teams.
→ Togetherness: Engineering and production succeed as one team.

Document and share knowledge:
Maintain repair records and technical documentation.
→ Candor: Make problems visible. Create solutions together.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Technical foundation: Completed apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, mechanical technician, precision mechanic, mechatronics technician, or similar technical qualification. You understand how things are built — and how they should work.

  • Hands-on craftsmanship:
Strong practical skills and experience working with tools, machines, and mechanical components. You enjoy building, adjusting, and improving physical systems.

  • Drawing & assembly expertise:
Confident reading technical drawings and assembly instructions and translating them into precise mechanical work.

  • Mechanical problem solver:
You can analyze issues independently, find practical solutions, and improve systems instead of only fixing symptoms.

  • Quality mindset:
You care about precision, reliability, and clean execution. Your work has a direct impact on the performance of our production environment.

  • Ownership & teamwork:
You work independently, take responsibility, and collaborate closely with production, engineering, and automation teams.

  • Industrial experience:
Experience in special-purpose machinery, fixture construction, maintenance, or industrial production environments is a plus.

WHAT WE OFFER

High level of autonomy & real impact: Be part of building the production backbone of next-generation aerospace technology.

Startup mindset meets aerospace innovation: Flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and the freedom to bring your ideas to life.

Hands-on engineering culture: Work closely with experienced engineers and see your improvements directly implemented.

Choose your own benefit: Deutschlandticket, Egym Wellpass, or a tax-free Givve Card.

Healthy & social lunch culture: Enjoy fresh meals during shared lunch breaks.

Stunning views: Wind down on our rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the Alps in Taufkirchen or enjoy our indoor garden in Garching-Hochbrück.
